TOUR TO THE USAKA DESERT

Part I: Off-Road Departure & Ancient Desert Secrets
At the designated time our guide picks you up from your hotel in Nazca. After around 30 minutes, we reach the archaeological zone of Ocongalla, a stunning feat of ancient Nazca engineering. Here You will explore a huge well carved into the desert floor, still channeling fresh water after centuries. After sometime, we continue to the west, to the ruins of Cahuachi.

Part II: Entering Cahuachi – The Lost Desert City
Cahuachi ceremonial center — a vast city of adobe pyramids rising from the sand like a mirage. Your guide brings the past to life with stories of rituals, sun cults, and ancient pilgrimages. Later on, we continue west, towarsd Usaka.

Part III: Dune-Bashing & Sandboarding Madness
We steer away from history and dive headfirst into the Usaka Dunes — an enormous natural playground made of golden sand and towering slopes. Your guide expertly navigates the buggy over steep climbs and heart-racing drops, with panoramic views in every direction. Then, it’s your turn to ride! Grab a board, learn the basics, and launch yourself down soft sandy hills for the thrill of your life. 

Part IV: Sunset Ride & Return to Nazca
As the sun begins to drop, casting warm light across the desert, we drive back toward Nazca.

You have the flexibility to change the date of your tour with ease, provided that you make the request at least 5 days in advance.

No charges will be applied for rescheduling within this timeframe.

 

If there’s no choice but to cancel, please be informed of any related fees.

Please notify us at least 7 days before the scheduled tour date to avoid any significant charges.

In such cases, only an administration fee of 10% will be deducted from the total amount paid.

 

We regret to inform you that last-minute cancellations are not accepted.

 

In the event of a no-show, where a customer fails to appear for the tour without prior notice, a 100% cancellation fee will be levied, and no refunds will be issued.

1. What is included in the Usaka Desert Tour?
The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Nazca, transportation in a 4×4 dune buggy, entrance fees to archaeological sites, professional local guide, and all sandboarding equipment.

2. How long does the tour last?
The tour typically lasts around 4 hours, depending on the group size and time spent at each site.

3. Is sandboarding suitable for beginners?
Yes! Our guide provides instructions for all levels, and the dunes we visit are ideal for both beginners and more experienced riders.

4. What should I bring?
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and water. Don’t forget your camera for some incredible desert shots!

5. Is this tour suitable for children or older travelers?
Yes. While the tour includes some bumpy rides, it is safe for children over 6 and adults in good health. The activity level can be adapted to the group.

6. Are there any restrooms along the way?
There are no permanent restroom facilities during the tour, so we recommend using the bathroom before departure. However, there are designated stops if needed.
